Since having my baby and getting photography withdrawals, I decided it was time to go out and do a spontaneous shoot between feeds. I'd already had a location in mind as I had driven passed it on a few occasions. The location is a country back lane in #NewtonAbbot there is a little, blue, wooden door in the middle of a beautiful, tall stone wall, surrounded by overhanging foliage (it reminds me of #TheSecretGarden by Frances Hodgson Burnett) quaint and mystical. For this shoot I wanted a feminine, timeless, wildflower, summer feeling. Full of #Devonshire prettiness and summer warmth. I'd already ordered a white lace dress which I thought would fit the vision perfectly. I carefully picked some Daisies, Lavender and other pretty flowers from the garden to create a bouquet (kind of like the ones I used to pick for my mum as a child).

I got all my camera equipment together, and jumped into the car with Savannah as time was limited. When we got to the location there was no parking so we ended up further down the lane. As we walked up towards the door the foliage had almost covered it (probably from all the rain we are having this summer). I decided to leave the door for another time and take some shots using the wall and lane. We had to be vigilant of cars as we were sometimes in the middle of the lane. Once we had taken all the necessary shots, we jumped back in the car looking out for another possible site. Savannah was given a stunning, blue, floral dress from #Joules from her auntie and got changed in the car (which reminds me i must invest in a portable changing room like this one from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Portable-Changing-Dressing-Carrying/dp/B00LITEX5A/ref=sr_1_1? )
We stopped the car by an entrance to a wheat field. The ground was covered in Camomile and the hills behind were a typical Devonshire looking landscape, making the perfect backdrop.

Just as we got started, my husband rang to tell me the baby had woken which meant we had about half an hour before she needed feeding again. We got to it, working together to create some amazing images. Savannah is fabulous at coming up with ideas and is willing to give everything a go. Together we make a great team which makes for a great picture! I was excited to get the images on to the computer and start the editing process they didn't disappoint. If you would like to take a look at more images from this session they are on the Photo Album page.
